frequently asked questions

What does a coaching session look like?

A coaching session typically lasts around 60 minutes and each one will be slightly different. I’ll ask a lot of questions and we’ll talk through your goals and challenges. Sometimes there’ll be a written exercise for you to complete between sessions and this will be the focus of our discussion in the following session. As the programme progresses, we’ll build a plan towards achieving your goals and the resilient mindset to take action towards them. Find out more about how I work on my services page.

HOW MANY COACHING SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

My programme lasts for 12 sessions over 3-4 months. This is the best length of time to allow you to work through your limiting beliefs and make lasting changes.

3. DO YOU OFFER ONE-OFF SESSIONS?

No, I don’t offer one-off sessions as it isn’t enough time to uncover limiting beliefs and work to dismantle them.

How much does coaching cost?

Each investment is personal and each programme is tailored to the individual, therefore pricing is discussed once there is a clear idea of the level and type of support required.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HIRE YOU AS A PUBLIC SPEAKER?

Each speaking event is unique and I work with you to tailor it to the audience and organisation. As the cost is dependent on this, we discuss pricing once we understand the nature and needs of your business.

ARE YOU ACCREDITED?

Yes. I am certified with the Unbreakable Mindset Academy and accredited through the ACCPH – Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE COACHING AND THERAPY?

The main difference between therapy and coaching is that therapy often deals with past and present trauma and struggles. While coaching does have some element of this to begin with, it is only so that we understand where limiting beliefs may have started and then the work becomes future-focused, with actions, tools and strategies that work towards individually set goals.

Mindset Coaching for Emotional Balance: 8 Expert Wellness Tips

Mindset Coaching for Emotional Balance: 8 Expert Wellness Tips

As a mindset coach, I’ve seen firsthand how crucial emotional balance is for overall well-being. Let’s explore effective strategies for regulating emotions through mindset coaching techniques.

Achieving Emotional Balance through Mindset Coaching

Mindset coaching for emotional balance begins with distinguishing between emotions and feelings. This understanding forms the basis for developing effective regulation strategies. Emotions are automatic responses, while feelings involve applying meaning to those emotions. Recognizing this distinction is key to developing effective regulation strategies.

Building Emotional Intelligence

Self-awareness is fundamental in achieving emotional balance. Learn how mindset coaching can enhance your emotional intelligence and help you track your progress. Keeping a reflection journal can be a powerful tool to enhance self-awareness. By recording your emotions and the situations that trigger them, you can better understand your emotional landscape and develop strategies to manage it.

Emotional Validation and Mindset Coaching

Recognizing and validating emotions is crucial in mindset coaching. Discover how to create a safe space for emotional expression in your coaching journey. This doesn’t mean you have to agree with or justify the emotions, but rather accept them as a natural part of the human experience. When working with clients, creating a safe space where they feel comfortable expressing their emotions is crucial. This involves not judging the emotions and ensuring that the client feels heard and understood.

Co-Regulation Techniques for Emotional Balance

Explore co-regulation as an essential technique in achieving emotional balance. Learn strategies like deep breathing and grounding exercises. Co-regulation involves working with your client to regulate their emotions together. Strategies such as deep breathing exercises, talking in a low and slow tone, and grounding techniques can be very effective. For example, if you or your client feels overwhelmed, taking a moment to breathe deeply and focus on the present can help calm the emotional response.

Mindful Approaches to Emotional Wellness

This powerful strategy combines breathing, movement, and positive self-talk to maintain emotional equilibrium in high-stress situations. The “Breathe, Move, Self-Talk” technique can be highly beneficial. This involves taking deep breaths to calm your body, engaging in some form of physical movement to release tension, and using positive self-talk to manage your emotional response. This technique helps in maintaining emotional balance and preventing emotional contagion.

Celebrating Progress and Emotional Growth

In mindset coaching, we emphasize celebrating small victories. Learn how this practice boosts mood and builds resilience for long-term emotional balance. Read more about why celebrating small victories is crucial for your success. Celebrating small victories is an often overlooked but crucial aspect of emotional wellness. Recognizing and acknowledging small achievements can boost your mood and provide a sense of accomplishment. This practice helps in building resilience and maintaining a positive outlook, which are essential for emotional regulation.

When to Seek Additional Support

While mindset coaching significantly improves emotional balance, it’s essential to recognize when additional professional help is needed. If you or your client is dealing with serious mental health issues, it is essential to refer them to a licensed psychologist or therapist. Life coaches should always stay within their ethical boundaries and not attempt to provide services that are beyond their training and expertise.

Holistic Approaches to Emotional Wellness

Discover how a holistic approach to emotional balance includes self-care practices, exercise, diet, and rest. Emotional regulation is not a one-time achievement but a continuous process. It requires ongoing practice and a healthy balance in life. Ensuring good self-care, including regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate rest, is vital for maintaining emotional wellness. Additionally, engaging in activities that bring you joy and help you relax can significantly enhance your emotional regulation skills.

The Importance of Self-Care

In mindset coaching, self-care is not a luxury but a necessity. Engaging in regular self-care activities helps to reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance overall emotional well-being. Whether it’s taking a relaxing bath, going for a walk in nature, or indulging in a hobby you love, prioritizing self-care is essential for maintaining emotional balance.

The Power of Gratitude

Practicing gratitude is another powerful tool in mindset coaching for emotional balance. Regularly acknowledging and appreciating the good things in your life can help shift your focus from negative emotions to positive ones. Keeping a gratitude journal or simply taking a few moments each day to reflect on what you’re grateful for can have a profound impact on your emotional well-being.

The Role of Mindfulness in Emotional Regulation

Mindfulness is a key component of mindset coaching for emotional balance. Practicing mindfulness involves being fully present in the moment, acknowledging and accepting your feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Mindfulness techniques such as meditation, yoga, and body scan exercises can help you stay grounded and better manage your emotions.

Conclusion

By implementing these mindset coaching strategies, you can develop better emotional regulation skills and achieve a more balanced, fulfilling life. Remember, the journey to emotional wellness is ongoing, and mindset coaching can provide the support and guidance you need along the way.

A Life and Mindset Coach's Expert Advice for a More Confident You

A Life and Mindset Coach's Expert Advice for a More Confident You

Social anxiety can be a significant obstacle in life, affecting your ability to build relationships, pursue opportunities, and enjoy social situations. As a life and mindset coach, I’ve worked with numerous clients to help them overcome social anxiety and build the confidence needed to live fulfilling lives. Here are seven expert strategies to help you manage and reduce social anxiety.

1. Identify and Challenge Negative Thoughts

Social anxiety often stems from negative and unhelpful thoughts. A key strategy is to identify these thoughts and challenge them. This process, known as cognitive restructuring, involves recognizing cognitive distortions and replacing them with more balanced, positive thoughts. For example, if you think, “I never know what to say at social gatherings,” reframe it to, “Sometimes I have trouble figuring out what to say, but not every time.

2. Practice Mindfulness and Deep Breathing

Mindfulness and deep breathing exercises are powerful tools for managing anxiety. By focusing on the present moment and using techniques like controlled breathing and muscle relaxation, you can calm your nerves and reduce anxiety symptoms. Regular mindfulness practice helps you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings, allowing you to detach from negative self-talk and focus on the here and now. For more practical techniques on managing anxiety with mindfulness, check out my article on How to Manage Anxiety with Mindfulness: Practical Techniques for Daily Stress Relief.

3. Gradual Exposure to Social Situations

Gradual exposure to anxiety-inducing situations is a highly effective strategy. Start with small, manageable interactions and gradually challenge yourself to face more intimidating social situations. This approach helps build confidence and reduces the fear associated with social interactions. A life coach can support you in creating a social anxiety hierarchy and guiding you through each step.

4. Focus on Others, Not Yourself

When in social situations, shifting your focus from your own anxious feelings to the people around you can be highly beneficial. Show genuine interest in others by asking questions and actively listening. This not only distracts you from your anxiety but also helps you build meaningful connections and improves your communication skills.

5. Develop Coping Mechanisms and Self-Soothing Techniques

Life coaching emphasizes the importance of developing coping mechanisms and self-soothing techniques. These can include journaling to process deep-seated beliefs and emotions, using worksheets to evaluate anxiety triggers, and practicing techniques like progressive muscle relaxation. A coach will help you identify what works best for you and encourage you to use these tools consistently.

6. Build Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem

Building internal self-esteem is crucial for overcoming social anxiety. A life coach can help you develop a more positive self-image by challenging negative self-talk and encouraging you to take small actions that build confidence. This includes recognizing your strengths and accomplishments, and learning to shrug off the opinions of others.

7. Visualize Positive Outcomes

Visualization can be a powerful tool in managing social anxiety. Instead of picturing negative outcomes, visualize yourself having a positive experience in social situations. Imagine yourself feeling confident, engaged, and well-received by others. This technique can make you feel more secure and prepared for social interactions.

The Role of a Life and Mindset Coach

A life and mindset coach is not a therapist but an accountability partner who helps you find your own solutions. They provide a supportive and empowering environment where you feel heard and understood. The coach will use various techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy principles, mindfulness practices, and positive psychology interventions, to help you overcome social anxiety and build a more fulfilling life.

By implementing these strategies with the guidance of a life and mindset coach, you can significantly reduce your social anxiety and develop the confidence and skills needed to navigate social situations with ease. Remember, overcoming social anxiety is a journey, and with the right support and strategies, you can achieve your goals and live a more confident, fulfilling life.
